The Flaming Lips Successfully Perform 8 Concerts In 24 Hours, Breaking World Record
As promised, The Flaming Lips embarked on their potentially world record-breaking 24 hour tour Wednesday evening in Memphis, performing a total of eight concerts (complete with opening bands and special guests) and webcasting the whole shebang as part of MTV’s O Music Awards. As much as I tend to discourage people from taking anything away from Jay-Z (the guy’s got people, you know?), I’m very pleased to announce that with 20 minutes to spare, Wayne Coyne & Co. officially now hold the world record for most concerts in a single day. Congratulations, guys!
